Nasavusavu District Primary, Fiji
Savusavu is a small town on the island of Vanua Levu in Fiji. The town is surrounded by a number of villages and smaller settlements. Job opportunities are relatively limited and in many areas the main source of income is subsistence farming and fishing.
The Rotary Club of Sandringham adopted the Nasavusavu District Primary School in December 2012, finding sponsors for seven children in need of urgent financial assistance to keep them in school. With the help of the RC Nunawading, RC Box Hill and more individual sponsors, by the end of June 2013 there were 19 children supported in school for a full year.
One of the great things about this school is the always-smiling and forever positive head teacher Isoa Qeleni. With many hardships to face these children are in really good hands.

Nasavusavu School for Special Education shares the same site as the Nasavusavu District Primary. Here are some photos from that project.
