News from Australia – thanks a million to the Rotary Club of Manningham for their very generous $1000 donation for Lavena Primary School in Taveuni. This means 4 more children will be able to attend school at no cost to the parents. $250 might not seem much in Oz but for these parents $250 could be as much as 25% of their annual income! And what if you have 4 children…?
ABCD Chairman Ken Wall was presented with the cheque at the RC Manningham meeting on Monday 30 January after appearing as guest speaker on the progress of ABCD in Fiji. The update was well received by members and guests, and in addition to the donation many ideas and suggestions for fundraising activities were put forward together with many offers of help with the ABCD projects.
